Technical Requirements
At a minimum, distance students will need regular access to a personal computer with the following requirements. Some courses may also require access to a CD player. Please note that corporate firewalls may prohibit viewing of course materials.
Minimum Hardware Requirements
- Pentium II Processor (or comparable)
- 128 MB RAM (512 MB recommended)
- Sound Card with ability to listen to audio (headphones or speakers)
- CD-ROM Drive
- High Speed Internet Access (256kps)
Minimum Software Requirements
- Windows 98SE, ME, 2000 or XP*
- Microsoft Office XP Professional (or higher)*
- Internet Explorer 6.0
- Windows Media Player 9.0
- Adobe Flash v9.x or higher
Required by Certain Courses
- DVD-ROM Drive
- Microphone input jack on sound card
- Permissions to install software
* The latest version of Microsoft Operating System upgrades as well as Microsoft Office products are available to currently registered distance learning students at a minimal charge. E-mail requests to adln@wpi.edu with name, current course number, and software requested.
