The MSIT program provides you with the tools to align information technology with business goals and provide your company’s managers the ability to advance your organization. Providing integrated solutions for business intelligence is essential for supporting an organization’s strategic goals. This program will expand your thought process to allow you to transform data from disparate systems into powerful insights, resulting in improvements in planning, forecasting and budgeting.
Concentrations
As part of this 35 credit hour program, students choose from one of six different leading edge concentrations in the field of information technology:
• IT Project Management
• IT and Entrepreneurship
• IT Applications Development
• Information Security Management
• Marketing IT Applications
• Manufacturing and Service IT Applications
These concentrations provide additional depth in particular areas of IT. You can choose a more managerial specialty, a more technical specialty, specialties that mix management and technology, or focus on a specific functional area.
Career Opportunities
MSIT program participants are working in a wide variety of professional positions with increased opportunities as a result of their advanced degree program. Examples of these positions are Application Developer, Business Analyst, Software Engineer, Software Developer, and Oracle Functional Consultant with companies such as Staples, Inc., State Street Corporation, Vicor Corp., Intel, and Capgemini, L.L.C.
Most courses are offered online and at the WPI campus. An advisor will work with you to determine a program and schedule that meets your career goals and need for flexibility.
The MSIT curriculum offers a wide choice of courses allowing you to focus on specific areas of technology interest.
